The NSI Leadership Development course is an intensive four-day training program designed specifically for first-term sheriffs. This comprehensive course provides participants with a unique opportunity to deeply assess their individual leadership strengths and define a clear leadership direction tailored to their unique roles as elected officials and Chief Executive Officers of their respective Sheriff’s Offices. Through interactive discussions and practical exercises, attendees will explore critical topics such as developing a personal leadership direction, effective stakeholder engagement strategies, cultivating emotional intelligence, and mastering the art of leading change within their organizations. The program culminates in the creation of a personalized leadership development plan, equipping sheriffs with actionable strategies to effectively engage their leadership team and advance their organization's mission, vision, and values. The NSI Leadership Development course is a prerequisite to attend both the NSI Jail Leadership and Communicating for Impact courses.
